take-out food containers and styrofoam cups

The curbside ban does not include food-grade Styrofoam containers. Soiled items go in clear bag garbage. Do not put in the blue box or green bin.

Clean food-grade Styrofoam containers are accepted at any Markham Recycling Depot . Remove all foods, liquids and rinse clean before dropping off.

Examples:

  • Meat trays (remove absorbent pads – put in the green bin)

  • Take-out food containers

  • Styrofoam cups, plates, bowls & lids
