The City of Markham has taken many steps to ensure credit card security including adopting industry standards. The padlock symbol represents the protective security technology and is indicated on the payment pages. The site uses VeriSign Secured Secured Socket Layer (SSL) Certificates technology to secure all information gathered from our customers at the time of purchase/payment. This means that any personal information is encrypted and safe while it travels over the Internet.
If your credit card is declined, you will be notified with a message. You will be prompted to re-enter the information or choose another card for payment. If you choose to terminate your session before payment is made, your online request will be cancelled.

At the end of your transaction, a screen displays your order summary and the message "Your transaction was completed successfully." Additionally, an electronic receipt will be emailed to the address provided by you in your submission. Print and retain both copies for your record.
If you are making an online donation, an official donation receipt will be emailed to the address provided by you in your submission as an attachment to your electronic receipt. Official donation receipts are only issued for donations of $25 or more.
