We will mail you a permit after we get your form and payment. New permits will require proof of residency before hard copies of permits are mailed. We will contact you by email for this information. Permits are electronically received and therefore your permit is effective from the date of purchase.

Proof of residency and vehicle ownership will be required for a NEW permit (i.e. vehicle registration, driver’s licence). Permits can be purchased one month in advance for a period of up to 3 months. Each permit is purchased for a specific calendar month and expires on the last day of that month.
Vehicles should display a permit bearing the plate number of the same vehicle to which the permit was issued while parked on the Street between 2:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m once received. Rest assured, monthly parking permits are valid from the day of purchase. Enforcement will be in compliance with our Municipal By-Law and patrolled in a similar manner as all other streets within the City of Markham.
Vehicles must be parked on their own street and only in the area where PERMIT PARKING is allowed in compliance with amended By-law 2005-188 and posted signs.
Permits will only be issued to operating and licensed vehicles. Permits will not be issued to tow trucks, tractor-trailers, cube vans, dump trucks, boats, snowmobiles, mobile homes, etc.
During winter months when snow removal is necessary, vehicles must be moved in order for snow removal and street service operations to be completed. Interfering with snow removal can result in a $150.00 fine and vehicle possibly being towed.
Vehicles should not be parked at the same location within an area designated as permit parking in excess of forty-eight (48) continuous hours. This can result in vehicle being towed.
It may be necessary to remove vehicles from the street during periods when tree pruning is required, or when street repairs such as paving and curb work are being done.
*Disclaimer* - Possession of a parking permit does not guarantee a space will be available within the permit parking area. Parking spaces may be limited.
The City reserves the right to revoke permits at its sole discretion.
