Online Overnight Street Parking Exemption Request
Parking is prohibited on Markham streets between the hours of 2:30 AM and 6:00 AM unless where signs permit. The City of Markham allows residents to submit nightly exemption requests for driveway repairs and out of town overnight guests. This request can be submitted below. Before you proceed it is very important that you review and understand the following:
All on street parking is prohibited during snow clearing operations and/or Winter maintenance.
Therefore, overnight exemptions are not valid during Winter operations. Vehicles parked on a city street during snow clearing and/or Winter maintenance will be ticketed and/or towed. The fine for interfering with snow removal and/or Winter maintenance is $150. Residents can expect snow clearing and/or Winter maintenance to begin at the start of any snowfall and continue up to the next 24 hours.
If you cannot enter an overnight exemption here, the system may have been shut down due to inclement weather. Please check for a message above.
Overnight parking exemptions will not be granted for vehicles with unpaid parking tickets.
Overnight parking exemptions for Commercial Motor Vehicles will not be granted even if the system accepts the information. Commercial Motor Vehicles include but are not limited to the following; trailers, recreational vehicles, tow trucks, cube vans, buses, school buses, dump trucks, boats, snowmobiles, mobile homes, etc.
Exemptions are only for plated vehicles. The City of Markham does not approve on street parking on private property.
