Zoning Search

NOTE: On January 31, 2024, Council enacted a new Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2024-19. The new Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2024-19 is subject to appeal. Not all properties within the City are affected by the new Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2024-19. Please click here to determine if your property is affected by this new Zoning By-law. Areas that are greyed out on the attached interactive map are not included in the new Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2024-19. 

Use the City of Markham Zoning Search Form below to request the permitted uses and development standards for any property within Markham, Ontario. Your request will be sent directly to the Building Standards Department for a response. You will receive confirmation that your request has been received. Please allow 10 business days for processing. The information will be emailed directly to you.

All requests for permitted uses and development standards must be submitted through the Zoning Search Form below. Please note we do not provide zoning information over the phone or in person.

The fee for a zoning search is $75 and is paid online with the submission of the form below. Please note that this fee is non-refundable.

Zoning Bylaws may be viewed or purchased at the City's Planning Department, Markham Civic Centre at the Thornhill Entrance, 101 Town Centre Boulevard, Markham, Ontario, L3R 9W3, or by emailing DSC@markham.ca. Purchase prices may vary based on the size of the document.
