Federal Election Sign Guidelines

Sign permits are required by Registered Candidates & Third Party Advertisers

On September 20, 2021, eligible voters from coast-to-coast-to-coast will cast their ballot in a Federal Election.

In order to put up election signs in Markham and/or on regional roads in Markham, Registered Candidates and Third Party Advertisers must have a permit from the City of Markham and the Regional Municipality of York.

Federal Election signs are subject to both municipal and regional sign bylaw regulations:

The City of Markham issues and enforces the City’s and the Region’s election sign bylaws in Markham for Federal Elections.
