With growing concerns around novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and out of an abundance of caution the City of Markham Community Centres, Libraries and Culture sites are closed until further notice. All programs and services permits offered at community centres, libraries and culture sites are cancelled during this time period.

Pre-paid fitness, walking track, spa and aquatic membershipe (i.e., 3 or 6 months and 1 year memberships are currently on hold. The expiry date for your membership will be extended based on the number of days our community and fitness centres are closed.

Pre-authorized monthly payments for Hassle-Free Fitness Memberships will not be processed until our community and fitness centres reopen.

Swim Descriptions:

Type Description
Lane Swim Ages 6 and older. Children who are 6 to 9 years old who can complete the admission swim test (at least one length of the pool without help or stopping) are allowed to swim independently.

The pool is set up for people to swim lengths of the pool. Lanes are set up as fast, medium, and slow.
Parent and Tot Parents or guardians 15 and older, and children up to 7 years old can use the wading pool.

Recreational Swim

Children and adults can use the pool for casual swimming.

Splash Only

Parents or guardians 15 and older, and children up to 7 years old can use the splash pad.

The splash pad area is open during special “splash pad” times at the Aaniin, Angus Glen and Cornell Community Centre. If you want to use the splash pad during recreation swim times, you’ll need to pay an admission fee.

Therapy Swim

Ages 16 and older.

Therapy swims includes light water exercises or stretch in warm water can use our therapeutic pool. This pool is great for people with arthritis and fibromyalgia. The warmth relaxes muscles and reduces pain and stiffness. This program is only available at our therapeutic pools.

Endurance Lane Swim (Pan Am Pool)

Ages 10 and older.

The pool is set up for participants to swim lengths of the pool. Lanes are set up as fast, medium, and slow.
