Online (EZ Reg)
EZ Reg online registration is fast. It also confirms your registration right away. To register online, you'll need:
- A client barcode
- An account pin
- Your course barcode(s)
- A credit card (Visa/MasterCard/AMEX) with a valid expiry date

By Phone
Call 905.475.4867 and follow the voice instructions. To register by phone, you'll need:
- A client barcode
- An account pin
- Your course barcode(s)
- A credit card (Visa/MasterCard/AMEX) with a valid expiry date

By Fax
Complete a Program Registration Form and fax it to 905.479.7767 before the Drop-Box deadline. You will need to put enough money in the account to cover the cost of the program.

Your registration is complete after you have paid and agreed to the online waiver.
Your receipt and registration confirmation will be emailed to the main account contact and will tell you whether your registration was successful.

If you register for a course that is full, you will be placed on a waitlist.
Step One
If a space becomes available, our Automated Callback Phone System will call you. The phone system will let you know that a place is now available. It will tell you the name of the person you wanted to register, the name of the program, and the start date.
Step Two
You can accept the space or decline the space.
Step Three
To accept the space, Press 1 and you will be able to register by phone. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation number. You will then be asked to pay with your credit card. If you do not pay before you hang up, you will lose your reserved space and your confirmation number will not work.
The system will not ask you for your Client Barcode and Account Pin number.

To decline the space, Press 2. You will be taken off the waitlist.

If you are not home to receive a call, we will leave a message. You must call the Contact Centre at 905.475.4731 before 3 PM on the next business day. On your call, you can accept or decline the spot.
If you do not call the Contact Centre before 3 PM the next business day, we will take you off the waitlist.

With growing concerns around novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and out of an abundance of caution the City of Markham Community Centres, Libraries and Culture sites have made changes to our refund policy to support our participants for the 2020 Fall season.
Withdrawal and Refund Policy
- A full refund in the form of a credit will be provided for any withdrawal and refund request submitted to the City of Markham before the start of the program.
- A partial refund in the form a credit will be provided for any withdrawal and refund request submitted to the City of Markham based on the remaining classes within the program.
- No full or partial refunds will be provided for any requests submitted after the program date has passed or that no notification to the City was received after the program has ended.
- At least two (2) days' notice is required for any transfer, withdrawals or refunds for: Aquatic leadership courses, Virtual Fitness Classes, and Virtual Summer camps (Varley Art Gallery, Flato Markham Theatre & Markham Museum). For Culture Camps to GO!, kits that have been picked up are final sale.
- Any credit balances that remain unused on a client account for two years will be cleared.
Transfer Policy
If you would like to transfer to a different program, a transfer request can be submitted. Transfer approvals are dependent on available space in the new program. If approved, the difference of the program fees will be applied to the participant's registration account.
At least two days' notice is required for any transfer, withdrawals or refunds for: Aquatic leadership courses, Virtual Fitness Classes and Virtual Summer Camps (Varley Art Gallery, Flato Markham Theatre & Markham Museum).
Program Cancellation Policy
A full refund will be provided for any program that the City of Markham cancels before the program start date.

Participants of all abilities are welcome at our programs. At this time, the City is not able to provide personal support staff, however, a family member or support worker is welcome to attend and support the participant. If you or your child requires additional support, please fill out the Special Needs Request Form. Every effort will be made to ensure programming, equipment and supplies can be adapted to support individual needs.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart®
A community-based charitable program that helps kids ages 4 to 18 participate in organized sports and recreation programs so they can develop important life skills, self-esteem and confidence.
National in scope, but local in focus, Canadian Tire Jumpstart® delivers support to children in financial need through a Canada-wide network of local chapters. Markham, through its Recreation Department, is one such Chapter. The City, working together with Canadian Tire Associate Dealers, identifies children who would benefit from Canadian Tire Jumpstart® and ensures effective delivery of the program.
Here are some important details:
- Children are eligible for up to $600 per calendar year; maximum $300 for the same sport.
- Grants will not exceed a maximum of $150 per application. Please note that our goal this year is to reach as many children as possible therefore grant amounts will vary.
- Programs or activities must encourage physical activity.
- Funding preference is to pay for registration fees.
- Approval of funding is dependent on available funds.
- Funding is available for members of the same family for the same season.
Eligibility
- All applicants must reside within Markham.
- Eligible applicants include children and youth between the ages 4 and 18 years of age.
- Funding should be for a sustained program that lasts a season. One week camps are not eligible.
