Kickin' It Country
Dust off your boots and mark your calendars! Markham Museum is thrilled to announce the debut of Kickin’ It Country, a brand-new summer festival happening on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Following the success of our award-winning AppleFest collaboration in 2024, Markham Museum is once again teaming up with Rouge River Brewing Company to bring the community an unforgettable country-themed evening. Enjoy toe-tapping tunes, lively line dancing, local flavours, and interactive entertainment—all in the heart of the City.
What’s happening: Line Dancing with Cheatin’ Hearts The Festival kicks off with high-energy line dancing sessions led by Cheatin’ Hearts, offering 45-minute lessons throughout the night. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or stepping onto the floor for the first time, their enthusiastic instructors will have everyone moving to the rhythm of country beats and good times.
Brews and Bites Savour delicious local brews and food favourites courtesy of Rouge River Brewing Company, offering refreshing flavours perfect for a summer night.
Live Entertainment: Live music takes centre stage with performances by local favourites The Beresfords and Courtney Bowles from School of Rock Markham, culminating in a headlining set by acclaimed Canadian country artist Rebekah Hawker.
Activations: There’s more than just music—step into the action with fun-filled experiences: Try your hand at lasso throwing with Extreme Cowgirl Susan Caldwell. Strike a pose at our country themed photo booths.
