Canada Post strike disrupts mail service to and from the City of Markham
MARKHAM, ON – November 18, 2024 – A Canada-wide postal strike has been called by The Canadian Union of Postal Workers. Mail delivery to and from the City of Markham will be disrupted and residents and businesses are advised to make alternative arrangements for payments to the City, including interim property taxes and by-law infractions.
To avoid late payment fines, use an alternate payment method, such as, in-person or online.
Parking Tickets and By-Law Infractions

Committee of Adjustment
During the ongoing Canada Post labour disruption, notices of upcoming Committee of Adjustment meetings will not be provided by standard mailing. Pursuant to the legislative requirements of the Planning Act, as amended, and as outlined in O.Regs 197/96 and 200/96, respectively, a Notice of Hearing may be provided by posting it, with the time and date of the meeting, on the City’s website.
Notices for upcoming Committee of Adjustment meetings may be found on the Meeting Agendas, Minutes, and Staff Reports portion of the Committee of Adjustment website. Notices will be posted approximately two weeks prior to the scheduled hearing date.
