The City of Markham is declaring a significant weather event in respect to a Yellow Winter Storm Watch alert, as per Environment Canada, starting at 4:37 PM on January 23, 2026. Users of roads, sidewalks and bicycle lanes in the City are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and to use caution if doing so. During this time, anticipate that the City network may become hazardous.
