There are three farmers’ markets in Markham for you to enjoy. We also recognize beautiful gardens in our region through our Susie Garden program. Learn more about how you can visit and celebrate our beautiful outdoor areas.

There are three farmers’ markets in the City of Markham. Visit them to buy fresh, local food grown right here in our city.
- Markham Homegrown Programs
The Markham Homegrown project includes: Workshops, Collective or Community Gardens, and Allotment Gardens.
Markham Homegrown Workshops show you how to grow food using organic methods. Get:

Markham Homegrown Community and Allotment Gardens are usually for people who live in condos or apartments. But, if you need more growing space you can use them, too!

A neighbour or other gardening fan has nominated your garden for the Susie Garden Program. This is a volunteer program sponsored by the City of Markham, the Markham Garden and Horticultural Society, and the Thornhill Garden & Horticultural Society.
You’ll get a Certificate of Appreciation that recognizes your contribution to making our City beautiful. If you approve, one of our volunteers will deliver a small garden sign to you. It will let everyone know how much we appreciate your efforts.
