Welcoming Week
Welcome to the City of Markham
What is Welcoming Week?
Welcoming Week is an annual celebration that recognizes the people, places, and values that help create inclusive and welcoming communities for everyone. This year's celebration will take place from September 10 to 19, 2026.
The City of Markham is proud to celebrate the diversity that makes our community vibrant, inclusive, and strong. Newcomers play a vital role in shaping Markham's future by contributing to economic growth, enriching our cultural landscape, and strengthening the social fabric of our city. Welcoming Week provides an opportunity to recognize these valuable contributions and reaffirm our commitment to building a community where everyone feels welcomed, included, and a true sense of belonging.
