Presented by Tim Hortons, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Markham Sunrise, the parade will run along Main Street Markham, north of Highway 7 to 16th Avenue.

Aquatic Staff Wanted in Markham!

Markham Recreation is looking for a dynamic team of lifeguards and swim instructors to join our aquatics team this winter. Working in Markham means joining a community of fun-loving aqua enthusiasts.

We’re also looking for staff to fill our daytime shifts. If you’re already lane swimming during the day, why not join our team and get paid for doing something you love. All you need to do is complete our training certification courses. Swim Here Work Here Part 1 & 2 offer everything you need to be certified to work as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Registrants will receive a full credit for both parts if they successfully complete the courses with the City of Markham in the last 12 months and work with us for 50 hours.

The role of a school crossing guard is to assist students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 in crossing busy streets where there are limited opportunities for them to safely do so by themselves. This paid part-time position covers a morning & afternoon shift during the school year.

Markham Civic Centre Outdoor Ice Rink Opening Soon!
Excitement is building in Markham as we prepare to open the Civic Centre Outdoor Ice Rink for the 2023-24 season!
Surrounded by the city's iconic architecture and vibrant atmosphere, the rink is a favorite destination for families, friends, and solo skaters alike. Of course, admission is free!
One of the key highlights of the rink is the convenience it offers. Not to worry if you don't have your own skates as rentals will be available on-site. Visit the skate rentals site for information on opening times and costs.
The Markham Civic Centre Outdoor Ice Rink is scheduled to open December 1, 2023 to March 17, 2024 (weather permitting).
We recommend that all recreational skaters wear a Canadian Standards Association (C.S.A) approved hockey helmet.
