Who we are

Elections Markham is an independent, non-partisan division of the City of Markham responsible for delivering elections, by-elections, and referendums for Markham's City Council and local school boards. We report to Markham's City Clerk and our work is governed by Ontario's Municipal Elections Act.

We're committed to making voting accessible for all voters and maintaining the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.

Markham is a leader in multi-platform voting. We were Canada's first city to vote online and we maintain one of North America's largest and longest-running online voting program, now spanning 6 consecutive municipal elections since 2003.
