Certified candidates announced for the 2025 Markham Ward 7 By-Election
MARKHAM, ON – August 18, 2025 – The list of candidates for the 2025 Markham Ward 7 By-Election has been certified by Markham’s City Clerk / Chief Election Official and is now final. The full list of certified candidates for Ward 7 Councillor is available at ElectionsMarkham.ca/CertifiedCandidates.
Eligible voters in Markham’s Ward 7 are encouraged to learn about their candidates and local issues before voting this fall. Markham voters and Permanent Residents of Canada residing in Markham who donate $50 or more to a candidate’s campaign can apply for a rebate from the City of Markham (some conditions apply).
About the 2025 Markham Ward 7 By-Election
It’s important for voters to check, update or add their information to the voters’ list before the by-election. Registered voters will receive a voter information letter closer to voting days with information about when and how to vote. A voter information letter is not required to vote but makes the voting process easier.
Voting in the by-election will take place on September 26 to 29 with voting places open from 10 AM to 8 PM. Locations will be announced shortly on Elections Markham’s website and will be listed in voter information letters.
You can vote in this by-election if you are:
- At least 18 years old (by final voting day);
- A Canadian citizen;
- A resident, landowner or tenant of property in Markham’s Ward 7 (or the spouse of one); and,
- Registered to vote.
