Public Service Announcement: Today is the last day to vote in the 2018 Municipal Elections
MARKHAM, ON — October 22, 2018 – Today is the Final Voting Day in Markham. Eligible voters can vote in the 2018 Municipal Election until 8:00 PM EDT. Markham continues to make voting accessible, convenient and easy by offering more hours to vote than ever before.
Please refer to your Voter Information Package (VIP) for instructions on how to vote and the voting web address. If you did not receive a Voter Information Package (VIP), it means you are not on the Municipal Voters’ List. You must be on the list in order to vote.
How you can register to vote:
- Online tool at markhamvotes.ca until 7:00 PM; or,
- In person at any Voter Assistance Centre
ID Requirements:
- Photo ID; and
- Proof of Canadian Citizenship; and
- Proof of Markham residency or non-resident eligibility

How you can vote on Final Voting Day:
- Vote anywhere, anytime from a computer or mobile device;
- In person at any Voter Assistance Centre, using an election tablet; or
- On a public computer at any Markham Public Library branch
Note: No paper ballots available on Final Voting Day (October 22)
IMPORTANT: Voters are reminded not to share their Online Voting PIN with others or who they voted for. City staff, candidates and law enforcement officials should never ask you for this information. It is your democratic right to vote for the candidates of your choice. Never use a candidate’s mobile phone, tablet or computer to cast your ballot.

Election Results:
Unofficial results will be displayed in the Canada Room at the Markham Civic Centre on October 22 between 8:00 - 10:00 PM and will also be available online at markhamvotes.ca. Certified results will be made available by the City's Returning Officer later this week.
