Markham Lions Walk for Dog Guides

This is a fundraiser to help raise money for Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. It costs about $35,000 to breed, raise and train one Dog Guide. There are seven types of Dog Guides: hearing, vision, diabetes alert, seizure response, autism assistance, service (for people with a physical or medical disability) and facility support (for agencies working with vulnerable people who have experienced trauma). Pet Valu is a major sponsor of this event. The Walk itself is just around the block - about 20 minutes. Following the Walk we will have a guest speaker from Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides followed by a raffle. Raffle prizes have been donated by various Markham businesses and are mostly for the dogs.
