City of Markham to Celebrate Canada Day with Live Entertainment and Free Activities for the Whole Family
Juno Award winner Jully Black to headline the event
MARKHAM, ON – June 25, 2026 – The City of Markham will host its Canada Day Celebration, presented by Tim Hortons, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 3:00 to 10:30 PM at Markham Centre in Downtown Markham (Birchmount Rd. and Enterprise Blvd.).
With free family fun, exciting main stage entertainment presented by moomoo Trade Canada, delicious food options, and fireworks at 10 PM, the event promises to be a celebration not to be missed.
Headlining this year’s main stage festivities is platinum-selling artist Jully Black. With a career spanning more than 30 years, she is a multiple Juno Award winner and Canada’s Walk of Fame inductee, recognized by CBC Music as one of The 25 Greatest Canadian Singers of All Time.
Also appearing on stage this year is Featured Artist Alyssa Reid, who burst onto the global stage with her #1 debut single “Alone Again,” selling over a million copies worldwide.
“We’re excited to come together as a community to celebrate Canada,” said the Mayor of Markham. “Jully Black is guaranteed to energize our celebration. As one of Markham’s own, she embodies the true spirit of our City, and our country. We’re proud to again host an event for residents of all ages with incredible food, exciting performances, and fun activities.”
The celebration will also feature free family-friendly entertainment and children’s activities including:
- Markham’s mascot, Millie the butterfly
- Inflatables
- Sensory activity and colouring stations
- Airbrush tattoos
- Food trucks and booths with a range of offerings available for purchase including poke bowls, tacos, hot dogs and burgers, meat skewers and bubble tea
- Free fireworks show at 10 PM
- A chance to win “Coffee for a Year” courtesy of Tim Hortons (Markham residents 18+ only)
