- Next Up Rotation Board
Next Up Rotation Board is used when all courts are full and a new individual or group of players arrive.
Instructions on how to use the Next Up Rotation Board:
- Players waiting for a court can add their names into the first available box.
- Game boxes are filled left to right, then next line down.
- When courts are full, an effort should be made to have 4 names per each game box to start a match.
- Individual players should add their name to incomplete boxes before starting a new game box.
- Once a court is open, cross the next full game box out.
- When the board is full, erase the completed game boxes and restart the sequence.
- Players on court cannot be included in a game box until their current game is completed.

As part of the City’s Integrated Leisure Master Plan, the City supports long-term sport development by partnering with locally developed clubs affiliated with Pickleball Ontario (Provincial Sport Organization) and Pickleball Canada (National Sport Organization). Benefits in forming partnership with local clubs include:- Provides opportunities for residents to play pickleball recreationally or competitively
- Supports sports development and sustainable sport practices
- Supports regular maintenance of courts
- Creates a partnership between the City and Clubs to promote and enhance the sport of pickleball in the City of Markham through public instructional program, community outreach and ability to host provincial and national based tournaments
- Create opportunities to cost-share future maintenance projects such as court resurfacing
- Create opportunities to seek grant funding

- Markham Pickleball Club
The Markham Pickleball Community has been active since the late 2000s when it first started coordinating friendly, inclusive & competitive programs at Armadale & Milliken Mills Community Centres. Leaders of the Markham Pickleball Community have been working with the City in the understanding of the growing demand for pickleball courts and the design/operation of indoor and outdoor pickleball facilities across the City of Markham, examples are the integration of pickleball lines (IE: kitchen line) at various indoor community center gyms. To formalize the voice of the community The Markham Pickleball Club (MPC) was incorporated in 2020, is an affiliated club of Pickleball Ontario and Pickleball Canada and actively has worked with the City to design and establish this 8-court complex at the new Cornell Community Park. MPC and the City hope these will be the first of many dedicated pickleball court complexes.
Markham Pickleball Club and the City of Markham supports Pickleball Canada’s Long Term Player Development Program which will promote and enhance the quality of pickleball for all ages in the City of Markham.Learn more about the Markham Pickleball Club, game rules, their code of conduct, clinics and registration fees.
