2026 Markham Municipal Election

May 1	First day to register as a candidate or third party advertiser
August 21 (2 PM)	Last day to register as a candidate (or withdraw if you have already registered)
August 24	Certification of candidates
September 28 to October 22	Special ballots available at Elections Markham Headquarters by appointment (Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays)
October 16 to 26	Online voting available
October 23	Last day to register as a third party advertiser
October 23 to 26	In-person voting at voting places available
December 31	Last day for candidates and third party advertisers to accept donations or incur expenses, or request a campaign extension due to a financial statement
March 30, 2027 (2 PM)	Last day for candidates and third party advertisers to file their post-election financial statements
June 28, 2027	Last day to request a compliance audit of candidate or third party advertiser's financial statement (initial campaign period)
June 30, 2027	End of extended campaign period (for campaigns that requested an extension)
September 24, 2027 (2 PM)	Last day to file supplementary financial statement (for campaigns that requested an extension)
September 2027	Rebates issued for eligible candidate contributions made during the initial campaign period (May 1 to December 31, 2026)
