A Centre for Sport Excellence
Built for the 2015 Pan American and ParaPan American Games, the Markham Pan Am Centre is a premier destination for high‑performance training, international competition, and world‑class events. Located in the heart of downtown Markham, the facility is supported by an experienced event‑hosting team and purpose‑built to meet elite sport standards.
Spanning 147,000 sq. ft. (13,660 sq. m.), this fully accessible venue features an Olympic‑size pool meeting World Aquatics competition standards, multiple gymnasiums suited for international‑level events across a range of sports, and dedicated meeting rooms for training, strategy, and video analysis. A multi‑level fitness centre, open to the public, completes the experience.
Since opening in 2014, the Markham Pan Am Centre has hosted major national and international events, including the 2015 Pan Am and ParaPan Am Games, ITTF Olympic Qualification Tournament, Artistic Swimming World Cup, and Water Polo National Championships.

Swimming Pool
Our Olympic 50‑metre pool has 10 lanes, 2.5‑metre depth, movable floor and bulkheads, and operates at 26°C for high‑performance aquatic training and competition events standards.
Gymnasiums
The 36,000‑square‑foot gymnasium offers flexible layouts for badminton, volleyball, and basketball, with 41‑foot ceilings meeting international standards and an adjacent warm‑up hall for training events.
Fitness Centre
The two‑level Fitness Centre features strength and cardio equipment for high‑performance training, plus an Event Day Fitness Pass allowing visitors to drop in and work out.
Sports Drop-ins
The Markham Pan Am Centre currently offers a variety of sport drop‑in programs, including endurance lane swims, pickleball, badminton, and table tennis.

- Lifesaving Club of Markham
The Lifesaving Club of Markham (LCM) engages youth through lifesaving sport, promoting physical activity, belonging, and essential lifesaving skills within a supportive community program environment initiative.

On‑site parking is currently free; however, availability is limited.
- Food/Concessions
A small food vendor is available on site during events. In addition, three vending machines are located throughout the facility, with two on the main floor near reception and one on the second floor overlooking the lobby.

- What are the facility hours?
The facility hours are 6 AM to 10 PM, 7 days a week. Schedules may change based on event schedules.
- Is there a fee for parking?
Parking at the Markham Pan Am Centre is free, but limited.
- Is there a place to buy food on site?
Currently there is small food vendor on site open during events.
- Are there any vending machines?
There are 3 vending machines. Two are located on the main floor by reception and the other is located on the second floor overlooking the lobby.
- Is the facility accessible?
Yes, the Pan Am Centre is fully accessible.
- Are pets allowed into the facility?
Only registered service animals are allowed to enter the facility due to pool Health & Safety Regulations.
- Can our group rent the gym or pool?
We have a variety of meeting rooms and spaces available for groups to rent. Please contact PACrentals@markham.ca.
- Is there Wi-Fi in the facility?
Yes, there is public Wi-Fi throughout the Pan Am Centre.
- Where is the lost and found?
The lost and found is located in the main lobby at the reception desk.
- Where do I put my valuables and my clothes?
- A limited number of lockers are available in each of the change rooms.
- You must provide your own lock and remove it when you leave.
- Do not leave money or valuables in the change rooms. Our staff is not responsible for anything that is lost or stolen.
- What is the temperature of the pool?
The pool temperature is maintained at 79°F (26°C) to meet FINA standards.
- What type of footwear is acceptable in the gymnasium?
No outside footwear is allowed on the gymnasium floor. Athletes must wear clean athletic, non-marking sole footwear.
- How does the Markham Pan Am Centre differ from the other Markham Recreation Community Centres?
The Markham Pan Am Centre was designed to be the first sports facility in the City of Markham. The Pan Am Centre plays an integral role in an athlete’s training and competition pathway towards sport excellence.

The Markham Pan Am Centre is a City of Markham Owned and operated facility. The facility is a legacy venue built in partnership with Infrastructure Ontario, TO2015 Pan Am Games Organizing Committee and the City of Markham.
